Project overview
GreenLeaf Farms is a 260,000 m² hydroponic lettuce facility in California, built for year-round production of fresh leafy greens
GreenLeaf Farms is a large-scale hydroponic lettuce facility in California, designed and built by GreenGrow. The site covers 260,000 m² (about 64 acres) and uses recirculating growing channels, energy-efficient LED supplemental lighting, and multi-zone climate control to keep every crop cycle consistent.
Automated irrigation is the heart of the project. Sensors track moisture, nutrient levels, and pH in each growing zone and adjust delivery in real time, using significantly less water than open-field lettuce. An integrated packaging line sits directly beside the growing hall, so heads are harvested, washed, and packed within hours.
“Bringing growing and packaging under one roof changed the economics of leafy greens,” said Mark Clark De, CEO of GreenGrow. “Fresher product reaches shelves faster, with less waste at every step.”
The farm supplies grocery chains and food-service partners across the West Coast and is designed for expansion, with space reserved for additional growing halls as demand increases.
