Project overview
Evergreen Herbs is a 300,000 m² greenhouse in Texas growing basil, mint, and other culinary herbs with precision climate control
Evergreen Herbs is a 300,000 m² (about 74 acres) herb greenhouse in Texas, built by GreenGrow to grow basil, mint, cilantro, and other culinary herbs all year long. Multi-zone climate control lets each variety grow at its own ideal temperature and humidity, even through hot Texas summers.
Eco-friendly methods guide the whole design. Shade screens and natural ventilation reduce cooling loads, rainwater is collected for irrigation, and integrated pest management replaces routine chemical sprays. Drip irrigation delivers water and nutrients right at the roots to minimize waste.
“Herbs are delicate, and the difference between good and great is consistency,” said Mark Clark De, CEO of GreenGrow. “Precise climate control gives our partner that consistency every week of the year.”
Harvested herbs are cooled and packed on site, then shipped to grocers and restaurant suppliers across Texas and neighboring states.
