Project overview
Tomato Complex is a three-phase greenhouse development in Florida, with a first phase covering 150,000 m² of high-tech tomato production
The first phase of Tomato Complex brings two state-of-the-art greenhouse structures to Florida, covering 150,000 m² (about 37 acres). Designed by GreenGrow, they combine biomass heating, carbon capture technology, energy-efficient LED lighting, and a smart climate control system that uses predictive analytics to keep growing conditions steady.
Automated irrigation and organic-focused growing practices protect plant health while reducing energy and water consumption. Once all three phases are complete, the complex is projected to produce over 50 million pounds of fresh tomatoes each year for retailers across the Southeast and beyond.
“Tomato Complex shows what sustainable greenhouse farming can look like at scale,” said Mark Clark De, CEO of GreenGrow. “We are proud to build it with a partner that shares our low-carbon goals.”
Automus Ventures, a developer focused on low-carbon greenhouse solutions, plans to use over 30,000 tons of locally sourced biomass waste each year to power the heating system, with first plantings scheduled for the coming growing season.
